The Huntington Station Ramrods rode a solid performance from 26-year-old starting pitcher Jason Sanders to a win, beating the Walnut Creek Warriors, 5-2, at Station Center Yard. The winning pitcher was Sanders, now 5-4. He tossed 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 4. The Ramrods now own a record of 32-30.
Danny Ortiz, who is tied for 8th in the RCL in runs scored with 40, helped out the Huntington Station cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the designated hitter went 1 for 4.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Sanders.
