Late Rally by Ramrods Secures 3-1 Win
|
In a tight affair between the Huntington Station Ramrods and the Hawaii Honu, pitcher Jason Sanders was in the zone. The Huntington Station right-hander helped his team win the game, 3-1. Picking up the save was Ben Benson, his 9th. Despite the win, the Ramrods have a lousy 19-42 record.
Kenny Krautter, who is tied for 3rd in the RCL in triples with 4, took Hawaii hurler Tom Mitcham deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 3-run home run put the Ramrods on top, 3-1. In all, Krautter had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"Glad to get this win," said Sanders. "But we need to keep playing at a high level."
