Dallas Defeated By Butterflies, 3-2
|
The Pennsylvania Butterflies got a marvelous performance from pitcher Sam Mikolajczyk. The right-hander kept the Dallas offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 3-2 Pennsylvania victory at The Kaleidoscope. Pennsylvania is now 32-37, Dallas 32-37.
Jeff Yurick, who is a two-time All-Star, took Dallas hurler Matt Lopas deep in the bottom of the third. His 2-run home run put the Butterflies on top, 3-1. In all, Yurick had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
"We had the right guys up at the right times," said Dallas manager Lester Burrow. "We just didn't cash in."
