The Florida State Seminoles defeated the Iowa State Cyclones, 7-5, at Ballpark of Riverdale College. Florida State third baseman Salvatore Reyes had a superb performance. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. With the win, Florida State pushed its record to 15-8.

The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With Florida State trailing 5-3, Reyes jumped on a fastball from 21-year old left-handed pitcher Kirk Davis and hit a grand slam home run to left. With one swing, the Seminoles had a walk-off win.

"This ballpark was lit," Reyes said.
