Houghton Defeated By Sasquatch, 5-4
|
Houghton got a terrific game from right fielder Miguel Trujillo. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Seattle, 5-4. Trujillo was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs. The winning pitcher was Travis Reske. His record now stands at 4-1. The left-hander went 6.2 innings, allowing 4 runs on 4 hits for the Sasquatch. Nate Wesson, credited with the save, is now 12 for 17 in save opportunities.
The Sasquatch got a big at-bat from third baseman Corbin Betts. For the game, Betts was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 12th home run of the season gave Seattle a 5-3 lead.
"It's still just a game," said Betts, "whether you win or lose."
The third-place Gremlins now sit at 29-30.
