The Aiken Thoroughbreds defeated the Toronto Blue Jays, 17-13, in Game 1 of the Divisional Series. A big contributor was designated hitter Jon Kisor, who went 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 5. The win moves Aiken into a 1-0 lead in the series.

Roberto Acosta had a clutch at-bat with no one out in the top of the sixth for the Thoroughbreds. Coming up with the bases loaded and Aiken trailing 10-9, he hit a 2-run single.

"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Acosta.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Exhibition Stadium in Fermont.
