Almost There: Paradise Island On Cusp of R1 Triumph After 4-2 Win
The 20-year-old rookie on the mound turned out to be the least of the Montreal Cardinals worries.

Giving a high-pressure playoff start to youngster Ricky Nunez seemed like a risky move for the Cardinals, but it was one of the few things that went right at Denis Coderre Stadium. Nunez tossed 8.1 solid innings, but it was all for naught after Montreal dropped a 4-2 decision. With the win, Paradise Island took a 3-1 lead in the best-of-7 Divisional Series.

Juan Torres came through with a big-time hit for Paradise Island. The first baseman smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 4-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We're happy," Torres told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Denis Coderre Stadium in Montreal.
