Adams Blasts Canucks, Rats Take Game 5, 10-8
The Rock River Rats have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Moose Jaw Canucks, winning, 10-8, at The Rat Hole. Rats designated hitter Matt Adams was 1-3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. The win cuts the deficit facing the Rats to 3-2 in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.

Adam Dixon went 2-3 with 2 singles and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once against the Canucks. With the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, he got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run that put Rock River in front, 8-7.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Rock River manager Shunso Sato.

Game 6 is scheduled for Saturday at Ashton Gate in Moose Jaw.
