Tigers Score Late, Top Commodores, 5-3
|
It was a fun time at Magistrates Ballpark, where the Vanderbilt Commodores and Clemson Tigers tangled.
The Clemson Tigers dealt the Vanderbilt Commodores a 5-3 loss at Magistrates Ballpark. Nate Nettles was the star on offense. He went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Clemson reliever Adam Richardson, now 1-0. The loser was Terry Dale.
Nettles had a game-changing single in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-1 fastball from Terry Dale, he banged a 2-run single to center, giving the Tigers a 5-3 lead. It was the 22nd hit of the year for Nettles.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Nettles.
The Tigers saw their record improve to 9-12.
