The Arkansas Razorbacks took Vanderbilt pitcher Josh Fielding's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Ramparts Ballpark. The final score had Arkansas getting past the Commodores, 3-1. Fielding went 6 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 4. Rich Sheward earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record is now 1-0. Bryan Brawner nailed down his 3rd save.

Matt Crawford drew 1 walk in 3 plate appearances for Arkansas. The 20-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off Brendan Jankowski. It was his 8th walk of the season.

"We did the things it takes to win a ballgame," said Arkansas manager Allvaro Malfeito.

The Razorbacks now own a record of 14-7.
