Late Rally Earns Missouri 6-2 Win
Vanderbilt left fielder Jim Berger had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Berger went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once, even as Missouri beat the Commodores, 6-2. Missouri reliever T.J. Norman picked up the win to move to 1-0. Brandon Tyson suffered the loss. Louis Lefevre collected save number 1.

Missouri first baseman Greg Ruder contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the eighth. With two down, he hit a slider to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 4th hit of the season and put the Tigers ahead, 5-2.

"We understand we didn't play our best baseball," said losing manager Ruben Lampman. "We'll shower it off and be ready to compete."

The victory gives Missouri a record of 11-9.
