		| Knotts Handcuffs Royals, Whitecaps Seize 3-1 Advantage in R1 |
		| Boston Whitecaps manager T.J. Hall knew it was a gamble to give the start to a rookie. It was a good gamble to take.
Pitching in front of a hostile crowd, 23-year-old right-hander Chris Knotts silenced the host Windsor Royals at Windsor Grounds. The Whitecaps shut out the Royals by a final score of 8-0, to give the Whitecaps a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Double A League Championship.

Knotts, the Boston right-hander, went 9 innings, allowing no runs on 7 hits. He collected 8 strikeouts.

"Things broke our way today and that's great," Whitecaps manager T.J. Hall said. "It's important, though, to stay focused and not pat yourself on the back too much. We aren't done yet."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Windsor Grounds in Windsor.
