Whitecaps Edge Royals, 4-3, to Open R1
|
The Boston Whitecaps faced a tough opponent in Windsor Royals first baseman Harlan Elliott, but did just enough to pull out a win in Game 1 of the Double A League Championship, which they now lead 1-0. The Whitecaps won, 4-3, at The Studio, despite the efforts of Elliott, who went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
Justin Alexander, the 24th overall pick in the 2060 draft, helped out the Boston cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a 2-run single. For the game, the catcher was 2-4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"The bar for us is not a particular opponent, it's ourselves," said Boston manager T.J. Hall.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Studio in Boston.
