The Montreal Cardinals and the Scottsdale Scorpions will take the Rookie League Championship to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation, the Cardinals beat the Scorpions, 15-6, at Denis Coderre Stadium to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Montreal right fielder Chris Neal went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 4 times and drove in 2.

Tim McCay chipped in a 3-run home run for Montreal in the bottom of the first. For the game, the first baseman had 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 4 RBI.

"They say the first rule of the playoffs is to win the home games," McCay said afterward. "It feels nice, but it is kind of what we were supposed to do."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Denis Coderre Stadium in Montreal.
