Jason Roe was a major factor in the 17-9 Baylor win over LSU. The Bears third baseman went 4 for 5 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 4 times and driving in 3. Baylor raised its record to 12-7 with the win.

Baylor left fielder Ray Way contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 11th hit of the season and put the Bears ahead, 9-6.
