Ruiz Blasts Cardinals, Scorpions Take Game 2, 7-5
Scottsdale second baseman Omar Ruiz was the difference-maker for the Scorpions in what turned into a shootout with the Montreal Cardinals. Ruiz earned accolades after going 3-for-4 in the 7-5 Scorpions win. With the victory, the Scorpions moved into a 1-1 tie in the best-of-7 series.

The game was all tied up in the top of the eighth, until Ruiz delivered big-time for Scottsdale, stroking a dramatic 3-run home run off Bryant Ordoyne. The game-changing hit put the Scorpions on top, 5-2.

"It feels a lot better to be tied than to be behind, even if it is only one game," Scottsdale manager Sergio Guerrero said.

Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at Scottsdale Stadium in Scottsdale.
