Scottsdale Takes League Championship Series in Deciding Game
When the entire season comes down to one game, Victor Villagomez said you find out what a team is really about.

As it turns out, the Scottsdale Scorpions are made of fight and tenacity, as the team got by the Thunder Bay Lighting 4-1 tonight at Lightning Grove in order to win the League Championship Series and book a place in the next round.

"It wasn't hard to get excited for this game," said Villagomez, whose strong offensive output earned him MVP honors. "Our guys answered the call and proved a lot about what our team is all about."

Villagomez hit .455 with a .657 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 7 RBI and scored 9 runs.

The Scottsdale Scorpions will play against the Montreal Cardinals in the next round. Montreal won their series against the Rosewell Tribbles 4 games to 0. The Rookie League Championship schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
