Butterflies Lose to Millers, 4-1
|
Opening day festivities have begun throughout the league. Fans of the Pennsylvania Butterflies were eager to watch Trace Yeadon square off against Francisco Pereda of the visiting Milwaukee Millers. In the end, the Millers won the game, 4-1, with Francisco Pereda leading the way. Pereda went the distance for Milwaukee. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits.
Mike Keys, who finished 5th in the TML in home runs with 37 last year, had a direct impact on the outcome. Keys contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Milwaukee up, 3-1.
"This game will punch you right in the mouth," said Pereda. "My job is to show up and give my team a chance."
