Romanko Shines in 4-2 Montreal Win
The Montreal Mounties defeated the Hawaii Honu, 4-2. First Baseman Chris Romanko deserved a large share of the credit. Romanko was 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Mounties. The winning pitcher was Kyle Peacock. He tossed 89 pitches over 6.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits. Jim LeMay earned the save, his 12th, for the Mounties.

Romanko contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Montreal in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Romanko took a fastball from Chris Sweeney and stroked the home run to right. His 10th home run of the season allowed the Mounties to leap in front, 3-1.

Said losing manager Naoki Okada: "Not taking anything away from them, but we swung the bats better than what it showed."

The Mounties now own a record of 33-25.
