The Montreal Mounties picked up a win at Mount Royal Grounds, dropping the Havana Stogies, 4-3. Eddie Galloza, who is tied for 3rd in the TML in quality starts with 7, was the difference-maker. Picking up his 10th save was 29-year old left-handed pitcher Jim LeMay. The first-place Mounties lifted their record to 39-19.

Montreal took a 4-3 lead on Gene Johnson's 14th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Johnson hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Havana pitcher Yale Fischer visibly frustrated.

"My job is to go out and execute," said Galloza.
