The San Francisco Earthquakes defeated the Bighorn Bison, 6-3, in 12 innings. Much of the credit belonged to third baseman Geoff Raines, who went 3 for 6 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Earthquakes. San Francisco reliever Steven Shiplack picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Ruben Rodriguez took the loss. With the win, San Francisco boosts its record to 1-6.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 12th. With two out, Raines hit a fastball from Ruben Rodriguez for a 3-run home run. The Earthquakes, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

Raines called the win a "confidence builder."
