Vikings Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Crosscutters
|
Pitcher Jay Kramer was sensational for the Victoria Vikings in his team's 6-1 triumph over the Williamsport Crosscutters. Kramer received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. Kramer, the winner, moves to 1-3. He threw 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 1 and giving up 3 walks. Victoria now sits at 81-81, while Williamsport falls to 59-103.
Victoria used the clutch hitting of Scott West to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to give the Vikings the lead, 2-0. For the game, West had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Vikings manager Bernardo Moreno, "I like our chances."
