Knights Take Nail-Biter Over Lake Monsters
|
The Kingwood Knights electrified the home crowd at Stable Park with a walk-off win.
Okanagan second baseman Jesus Jacome had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 7-6, to Kingwood at Stable Park. Jacome was 2-2 with 2 singles and 4 walks. He scored 2 times. Kingwood reliever Edgar Ortiz picked up the win, upping his record to 2-3. Jonathan Carrillo shouldered the loss.
The Knights were down to their final out when first baseman Jessie Rei turned a 3-1 fastball from Jonathan Carrillo into a 2-run double. The walk-off double made the Stable Park crowd go wild.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Rei told the Kingwood Daily News.
The Knights saw their win-loss record go to 70-92. At the same time, the Lake Monsters fell to 85-77.
