Civics Rally to Eke Out Win
The Ottawa Civics faced a tough opponent in Carmel pitcher Nick Fortenberry, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Civics Field by a final score of 7-6 in 11 innings. Fortenberry went 7.2 innings and allowed 3 runs. George Main came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. His record now stands at 1-2. The 4th-place Civics bumped their record to 71-67.

Ottawa got a knockout punch from Alex Ramirez. The pinch hitter hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"The ending was a real humdinger," Ramirez told reporters after the game.
