The St. Petersburg Pelicans beat the Campo NoBos at Billy Mathews Field. The final score was 6-1, in favor of St. Petersburg. Danny Castaneda led the way, going 4-for-4 for the home team. The win makes St. Petersburg 37-124, nothing to write home about.
Benito Madrigal had a big 2-run double for the Pelicans in the bottom of the first inning. With St. Petersburg leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Ruben Fernandez and swatted a double to left. It was his 16th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Pelicans ahead, 3-0.
"We didn't play well enough to win," said Campo skipper Adrián Cortés.
