Lawmen Top Dancin' Outlaws in 12
|
The Marshall Lawmen found a way to sneak past the West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws, 6-5, in 12 innings. Marshall third baseman Luis Rivera, for one, had a standout performance. The winner in relief was Michel Mercier. He is now 4-0. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 3 innings. Bobby Darst nailed down the save.
Jorge Delgado delivered a big hit for Marshall. The left fielder drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the 12th inning to put the Lawmen ahead, 6-2. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
"I put some good swings on the ball," said Rivera.
The Lawmen now own a record of 80-57.
