| Late Rally by Black Squirrels Secures Win | The rain at Prefontaine Park did not keep Tree City and Eugene from finishing their game.
With third baseman Brent Biernacki leading the charge, the Tree City Black Squirrels defeated the Eugene Emeralds, 8-3, at Prefontaine Park. Biernacki went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Tree City reliever James Arnold picked up the win, bumping his record to 5-5. Jesse Lay was collared with the loss.
Seiju Takahashi's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With one out, he rapped a cutter from Pablo Baca for a 2-run double. It put Tree City in front, 4-3.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Takahashi said.
The last-place Emeralds have lost 4 consecutive games.
