Lawmen Handed 7-0 Loss
|
The Oconomowoc Five O's got a marvelous performance from pitcher Stephen Lowry. The right-hander kept the Marshall offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 7-0 Oconomowoc victory at Arnold Field. The second-place Five O's sport a record of 82-53.
Bill Lord had a big 2-run triple for the Five O's in the bottom of the second inning. With Oconomowoc leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a curveball from Bill Cavanagh, who is tied for 6th in the RA in quality starts with 13, and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Five O's ahead, 3-0.
"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Jim Moores.
