The Okanagan Lake Monsters overcame a good performance by Charleston center fielder Kevin Kliewer to knock off Charleston, 6-4, at Franklin Mountains Field. Kliewer went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Denis Pisa was called on to finish, recording his 5th save. With the win, Okanagan has a record of 90-64. Charleston falls to 52-103.
It could have been a different outcome for Okanagan, had it not been for Mike Westbrook, the 24-year old first baseman . Westbrook contributed a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put Okanagan up, 6-4.
Westbrook called the win "a pick-me-upper."
