Frank Goes Deep Twice in 10-5 Sting Win
|
Behind a fine performance from Todd Frank, the Houston Sting knocked off the Bel Air Princes, 10-5. Frank hit 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for the Sting. The winner in relief was Tony Ortiz. The right-hander allowed 3 runs on 6 hits in 5.1 innings. He now owns a record of 8-4. Earning the save was Kirk Benjamin. He's now cashed in 4 of 8 save opportunities.
With Houston trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the third, Frank hit a fastball from Alfredo Valdez for a 3-run home run. It was his 30th home run of the season and put the Sting ahead, 4-2.
"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Frank told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
Houston has now won 5 straight, while the Princes have lost 4 in a row.
