Romero Goes Off, But Vikings Win
Ottawa left fielder Danny Romero had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Romero went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once, even as Victoria beat the Civics, 8-7. Picking up the win was Eric Jones. He went 5 innings, allowing 6 runs on 5 hits. The right--hander struck out 2 and walked 2. The triumph puts Victoria at 99-54 for the season.

Rogelio Roman took Ottawa hurler Danny Rubio deep in the bottom of the fifth. His 3-run home run put the Vikings on top, 8-6. In all, Roman had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

Roman told reporters after the game: "This one was touch and go, but we were able to put it in the win column."
