Chris Brown knocked in 6 runs to help Carmel beat Kingwood, 10-1. Brown produced 1 single, 1 double, and 1 home run. Jaylen Louis earned the win for Carmel. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 1 run on 9 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 9-8. The third-place Apples now sit at 74-58.
The Apples got a big boost from center fielder Dale Huss who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Knights hurler Ruben Cruz. It was his 70th walk of the season and put Carmel on top, 1-0.
"Nothing to write home about," Kingwood manager Kazuki Yamamoto said, when asked afterward about the game.
