| Black Squirrels Get Win, Extend Streak to 5 | In a low-scoring tilt between the Tree City Black Squirrels and the Bethesda Hornets, Doeke de Jong was the difference-maker. The Tree City right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-1 win. Bethesda has now lost 4 straight.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out in the top of the seventh inning. That's when first baseman Nick Ashburn, who is tied for 8th in the DML in home runs with 17, drew a walk. The Black Squirrels went on to win.
"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Ashburn told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."
