| Orphans Win at St. Petersburg, 2-1 | The St. Petersburg Pelicans and Cambridge Orphans provided some drama at Billy Mathews Field.
The Cambridge Orphans got a strong performance from pitcher Fernando Santana, who stymied the St. Petersburg offense en route to a 2-1 win at Billy Mathews Field. Jake Hickerson got the save, his 10th in 15 chances.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and one out in the top of the sixth inning. That's when left fielder Edward Chairez hit a single. The Orphans went on to win.
"We did just enough to win," Santana said.
Even with the win, the Orphans have a dismal 50-101 record.
