| Lake Monsters Lose, 9-4, at The Reservation | Chippewa right fielder Luis Hernandez made his presence felt in the 9-4 River Chiefs triumph over the Okanagan Lake Monsters. Hernandez went 3-4 with a triple, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Paul Childers picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 7-1. Raul Arenas was tagged with the loss. The River Chiefs bumped their record to 82-67 with this latest triumph.
The River Chiefs got a big at-bat from center fielder Gilberto Perez. For the game, Perez went 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 28th double of the season gave Chippewa a 7-4 lead.
"We take it day by day here," said Hernandez, "and today was a good one for us."
