| Gnats Scratch and Claw to 6-5 Win | Williamsport third baseman Eichiro Takahashi had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Takahashi went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3, even as Nichols beat the Crosscutters, 6-5. Takahashi was named the player of the game despite the loss. Nichols reliever Tatsuro Tanaka picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Ryan Hatch was saddled with the loss. With the win, the Gnats improved to 64-82.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Nichols shortstop Jesse Wyatt, facing Ryan Hatch, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Gnats the 6-5 win.
"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Wyatt.
