Lake Monsters Score Late, Stun River Chiefs, 4-1 | The Lake Monsters grabbed a win, 4-1, at The Reservation, overcoming a fine effort from Chippewa pitcher Junior Castillo. Castillo went 8.2 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Okanagan reliever Keon Ford picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Junior Castillo was saddled with the loss. Aaron Lentz notched his 29th save in 30 chances.
The Lake Monsters got a big at-bat from pinch hitter David Hernandez. For the game, Hernandez was 1 for 1 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the top of the ninth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 19th home run of the season gave Okanagan a 4-1 lead.
