Wilder Excels, But NoBos Win
|
The Campo NoBos withstood a fine game by Charleston center fielder Chris Wilder at Valhalla Summit, to upend the Panthers, 16-14. Wilder was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. Ross Rex notched his 9th save of the season. The 6th-place NoBos own a record of 42-85.
Had Brennan Belvin not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Belvin hit a 2-run single. That made the score 16-14, in favor of the NoBos.
"They're fun to watch and the hitters get to pad their stats but nobody's really happy about a game like that," Campo manager Adrián Cortés. "I promise you I'm not happy."
