Bowen Goes Wild, But Five O's Win
|
The Kingwood Knights got a sterling performance from designated hitter Kyler Bowen, but the Oconomowoc Five O's still prevailed, 14-11. Bowen was 4-5 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. The winner was Dylan Kipling, who threw 125 pitches over 6 innings. The left-hander was charged with 4 runs on 7 hits. Jimmy Kennedy earned the save, his 5th in 8 tries.
Keith Trytek had a big grand slam home run for the Five O's in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Oconomowoc leading 5-3 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Tim Rose and swatted a home run to left. It was his 28th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Five O's ahead, 9-3.
"They're fun to watch and the hitters get to pad their stats but nobody's really happy about a game like that," Oconomowoc manager Jorge Murillo. "I promise you I'm not happy."
Oconomowoc has won 3 straight, while Kingwood has lost 3 in a row.
