The Ottawa Civics topped the Ocala Knights, 14-6, with center fielder Sam Spurr playing a big role. Spurr was 2-3 with a home run, a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 and driving in 4 for the Civics in the win. The Civics lead the TML HA Earl Weaver Division by 10½ games.

Early in the game, Spurr had a 2-run home run for Ottawa. It was his 40th home run of the season and put the Civics on top, 2-0.

"Been a pretty good stretch for me, hitting-wise," said Spurr.
