Carlos Ruiz, who is tied for 9th in the RHA in RBI with 108, knocked in all 6 runs for the Brownsville Bandits, helping them beat the Houston Sting, 6-0. With the win, Brownsville has a record of 70-76. Houston falls to 66-80.
Brownsville took a 6-0 lead on Ruiz's 20th home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which he hit off Jose Sanchez in the bottom of the seventh, propelled Brownsville to the win.
"We understand we didn't play our best baseball," said losing manager Barnabé Bacm. "We'll shower it off and be ready to compete."
