| Linares goes 3-for-4 to Power River Chiefs Offense | Eddie Linares left his imprint on the 4-1 Chippewa win against the Williamsport Crosscutters. Linares was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Matt Hoffman converted his 29th save in 32 tries. The River Chiefs bumped their record to 79-66 with this latest triumph.
Linares had a game-changing single in the top of the seventh. On a full count fastball from Francisco Valenzuela, he banged a run-scoring single to left, giving the River Chiefs a 2-1 lead. It was the 14th hit of the year for Linares.
"If it's down the middle," said Linares, "you might as well hit it."
