Tight Tilt Goes to Bandits, 4-3
|
The Brownsville Bandits defeated the Bel Air Princes, 4-3. Doing his part was shortstop Ryan Quigley, who was 3 for 5 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winner in relief was Danny Correa. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. Jacob Allen converted his 5th save in 6 tries.
With the game tied, 2-2, in the bottom of the sixth, Quigley had a key at-bat for Brownsville. With the bases loaded, Quigley hit a 2-run single off Justin Valentine, making the score 4-2, Bandits.
Quigley told a Brownsville Daily News reporter he was "pleased as punch" with the win.
The 5th-place Bandits now have a win-loss record of 56-68.
