| Victory Pushes Sting Record to 72-72 | Houston pitcher Arturo Tejeda did his part in helping his team beat the Victoria Vikings, 3-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Jesus Martinez notched his 9th save in 17 chances. The Sting bumped their record to 72-72 with this latest triumph.
The Sting got a big at-bat from catcher Rob Coronado. For the game, Coronado went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the seventh, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 83rd hit of the season gave Houston a 3-2 lead.
"It was a solid team effort," said Tejeda after the game.
