Dancin' Outlaws Slap 3-0 Loss on St. Petersburg
|
The West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws topped the St. Petersburg Pelicans, 3-0, in RCL HA action at The Rain Forest. The game was highlighted by the performance of West Virginia pitcher Danny Rodriges. Rodriges picked up the win for West Virginia, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 4-13. Donzel Albertrani was credited with the save, his 7th in 24 tries.
The Dancin' Outlaws got a big at-bat from center fielder Victor Nieves. For the game, Nieves went 1 for 4 with a double. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 16th double of the season gave West Virginia a 1-0 lead.
In postgame remarks, Rodriges said: "To all who've been doubting my effort -- I hope they saw this game."
