Five O's Topple River Chiefs with Late Rally

Chippewa pitcher Victor Salinas gave the Five O's all they could handle, but in the end, Oconomowoc left The Reservation with a win, 2-1. Salinas allowed 1 run on 6 hits over 7.1 innings. Dylan Kipling, 2-2, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. At 88-52, the Five O's are currently first in the TML HA Dick Williams Division.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Tom Beverly? The 22-year old left fielder Beverly stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Oconomowoc up, 2-1. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"We busted our tails," said Chippewa manager Pang Yip. "But we came up short."
