| Princes Trip Pelicans in Extras | In a low-scoring game between the Bel Air Princes and the St. Petersburg Pelicans, pitcher Dave Gershenson was masterful on the mound. The Bel Air right-hander was named the player of the game in Bel Air's 2-1 win. Bel Air reliever Josh Belcher was the winner. His record is now 5-8. Brian Reddin took the loss. Their 71-66 record puts the Princes third in the Donnie Moore League Tommy Lasorda Division.
The Princes got a big at-bat from left fielder Josh Walde. For the game, Walde went 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk. In the bottom of the 11th, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 8th hit of the season gave Bel Air a 2-1 lead.
"The old adage is true," said Walde. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
