|
Mario Solis pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Pennsylvania Butterflies, despite Solis's fine outing, dropped a 2-0 decision to the El Paso Mavericks at The Kaleidoscope. Malik Combs picked up the win, improving his season record to 4-3. He struck out 6 in 5.2 innings. Ryan Burnett closed out the game, earning his 1st save.
Danny Sullivan had a direct impact on the outcome. Sullivan contributed a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to put El Paso up, 2-0.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Sullivan.
After today's action, El Paso sits at 29-34, while Pennsylvania falls to 28-34.
