Multi-HR Day for Hafford as Jedi Knights Overpower Cyclones, 9-7 | The New Orleans Jedi Knights beat the Coney Island Cyclones, 9-7, at Coney Island Coliseum. The win was largely due to the efforts of second baseman Thomas Hafford, who captured player of the game honors. He slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. Matthew Varga earned his 11th save in 16 chances. The Jedi Knights now have a record of 58-80 with the win over Coney Island.
Mike McAndrews, the 22nd overall pick in the 2036 draft, aided the New Orleans cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the first. For the game, the designated hitter went 1 for 4, while scoring 2 times.
"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Pedro Gonzáles.
