Mavericks Rally to Win, 6-5
Though he had a stellar game, Chris Kern could not prevent his team, the Huntington Station Ramrods, from losing, 6-5, to the El Paso Mavericks. Kern went 3-4 with a home run, a triple, and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Eric Hooks, 2-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 4 innings. Radhi Tuwile earned the save for El Paso, his 1st.

El Paso needed the clutch hitting of Marty Hannibal to seal the deal. The first baseman swatted a solo home run in the top of the 16th inning to put the Mavericks on top, 5-4. For the game, Hannibal had 1 home run and 1 single in 7 at-bats.

"We had a chance to win," said Huntington Station manager Paco Berroa, "but we didn't get it done."

The second-place Mavericks hiked their record to 28-26.
