Panthers Come Back Late, Nip Lawmen
The Charleston Panthers had to overcome a fine effort from Marshall pitcher Bo Ferguson to win, 3-2, at Franklin Mountains Field. Ferguson went 8 innings and allowed no runs. The win went to Tony Garza in relief. His record improves to 8-2. Andy Gardner took the loss. The Lawmen, at 77-36, have lost 4 in a row.

The Panthers were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when 21-year old center fielder Chris Wilder landed a big blow. He turned a 0-1 circle change from Andy Gardner into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the Franklin Mountains Field denizens into a frenzy and sent the Panthers home with a thrilling 3-2 win.

"The fans went nuts at the end," Wilder said.
